Sustainability
Sustainability is of increasing importance to businesses, because it provides a focussed way of addressing a range of economic, social and environmental issues that can help in the efficient, effective and responsible operation of those businesses.
Benefits of thermal mass
Thermal mass is the ability of a material to absorb heat. Using the thermal mass of a building is an effective and efficient way to maintain comfortable and stable temperatures, plus it's a low energy solution with reduced environmental impact.
Fire resistance
Concrete is completely non-combustible and outperforms both steel and timber in any test. It does not burn, it cannot be 'set on fire' like other materials in a building and it does not emit any toxic fumes, smoke or drip molten particles when exposed to fire.
Transmission of sound
According to statistics provided by the 1996 English House Condition Survey, up to 4.7 million people suffer as a result of noise from traffic, industry or noisy neighbours.
Resonance/Natural frequency
IIn terms of floors, resonance is the tendency of the floor to oscillate or bounce when energy is transferred by either people walking across it or objects being moved across it.
Insulating properties
In response to an ever increasing requirement for high-performance thermally efficient
buildings, and the desire to drive down energy bills, the problem of hard-to-heat homes is being tackled by improving insulation levels within their floors.
Why use our products?
Tarmac Topfloor manufactures the right floor for every application. Our floor 'brands' - Fastfloor Beam & Block, Heatsave Plus, Hollowcore and precast Stairs are all leaders in their own sectors.
